One specific technique I used to improve readability in my revised version was:

This is an effective technique because as you remove words that don’t add meaning, you are left with only the words that actually hold weight and are necessary to get your point across. By simply removing filler words and sentences and then rewording the phrases that are left to ensure that they make sense and flow together, you are left with a revised version that communicates the message in the fastest way possible. This is effective because plain English writing significantly improves time on page, has lower bounce rates, and improved conversion rates, and because readers are “40% more likely to understand text that’s written in plain English — and 34% more likely to say that your copy is well-written or organized.” (Briscoe, W8 – Writing Website Copy & Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 6)
